MYTHOLOGY
The Phoenix was a
mythological bird with the size of an Eagle with red, orange and yellow
plumage, in a glowing tone as if it was surrounded by fire, with a strong peak
and claws. This bird was consumed in fire every 500 years and from the ashes
was reborn.
In ancient times, for
Greek people, it was a bird that was heading towards the altar of Heliopolis,
where the altar burned down. The day after his death, a little worm appeared in
the same place and the following day it was transformed into an adult bird.
The Phoenix has been a
symbol of physical and spiritual rebirth, the power of fire, purification and
immortality. According to the myth, it has several gifts, his tears could heal.
Because of that symbol,
the expression “like a phoenix rising from the ashes” is used to imply that
something or someone that looked “dead” in some sense reappeared in their
entire splendor.
